I drove down from Humble with my friends and family and played Copperhead. I was very impressed. Very beautiful course. Very clean. I had a great time. I would just like to extend an invitation to you all to come down and play some of the courses we have in the Houston area. I live near River Grove Park in Kingwood,TX , and it has been called one of the most challenging courses in the Houston area. If you ever decided to come play that course , please send me a PM and I will give you directions and can play a round with you.

We also gave Pleasure Island a try, but the mosquitoes ran us off. I did enjoy that one though. Next time we head that way, were are going to give the Beaumont courses a try. Again, thanks for a good time.

Glad you had a good time!
Post up if you come back and want someone to meet you out at a course.
Klien Park in Beaumont is probably played the most. It is on S. Major near the Hwy 105 intersection.
Pleasure Island is bad during the fall and winter - it hardly gets mowed. The city doesn't really care about the course but during the summer, after a good mow, it can be a lot of fun.
Soon we will have another nine at Claiborne and PI may get a redesign to use the hills better.

I plan to come back someday soon. Right now with the price of gas, I will try to get a car full before I head out there again and have them help pay for the gas. I live in Humble, so it's a little bit of a drive.

I invite you all to come play at Kingwood,TX with me sometime. Its been called the most challenging course in the Houston area.

I have yet to figure hole 6 out! I went at it hard with an s-curve sidearm and you know where that ended up!!! I have an idea, though. I bet a great shot would be to throw a low hyzer with the intention of hitting the left bank of the ditch and rolling down into the ditch with no more than an uphill 25 footer? That hole broke my streak of 7 birdies in a row. :D So who has the #2 tag? #4? #5?

How is Pleasure Island looking lately? I am thinking about a road trip down there.

In the middle of the day when the sun is out is your best bet to avoid the skeets. Klein is looking good right now as long as it doesnt rain a few hours before you play.

Actually, they have been mowing like clockwork, and spraying for skeets regularly. I haven't seen a mosquito out in the last 2 months. I dunno if the little bit of rain we've had has turned the tables, but the last couple of months have been beyond gorgeous out there. With one week's exception of course...
