View Full Version : Wind damage
My Friends and I have been playing Tyrrell basically every day from noon to 1pm. Usually we have a 4some or more and play 8 to 10 holes as time allows. But today with the inclement weather, only Daniel and I played, so moving quickly we played all 18 holes.
As we walked from the basket on 16 to the tee for 17 I saw the damage. The perfectly (horribly) placed and oh so dense tree that used to completly block any normal shot path off the tee on hole #17, snapped in the wind last night. It's completly down and leaves a wide open fairway.
Makes me sad.

While I don't appreciate your sarcasm, I do appreciate the heads up. Thanks.
I'll be out there around 4 today (first time to play locally since doubles after we put it in) and I'll check it all out.
Tommy, did you get any word back from our little problem???
Sarcasm is a funny thing when typed. I meant no disrespect.
What I mean is that I Love the new design of tyrrell park. I've come to understand that a challenging hole is fun and an easy hole is boring. And not just hard but one with risk/reward opportunities. This new course provides an amazing number of these types of shots. It's a great job on fixing up the course.
And I think it's a shame that what appeared to be a conciously chosen and integral to the feel of the hole - obstacle, has now been effectivly removed, changing the original intent.

Sorry if a seemed to jump on you. You gave me bad news and then added sarcasm so I didnt take it to well at first glance. If it is the big round tree then that basically destroys the entire hole. The only reason the hole is even there is for that tree. I am walking out to go play the course right now. Come out and play if ya want.

That is sad. I really liked the fact that that hole made you work on an anny or a forehand to get around the big bushhy tree. I would thing that that tree is still there. the one closer to the tee is the one that probably fell.

Indeed it was some growth off of the tree next to the tee that fell. While there is a hyzer it doesnt hurt the hole overall too much imo. That stuff will grow back up in no time when summer rolls around i would think.

I'm still gonna throw my cyclone no matter what on that hole. It holds its line very well. 17 is one of my favorite holes, especially since I learned how to throw an anhyzer! Come out for doubles on Sunday. 1:15 -ish.
