The grass at Tyrrell Park is freshly mowed.

Thanks to DJ107 for the update.

about 1/4 of the tyrrell park course is mowed. The rest is very high grass. The course itself is not in the best condition either..

Hole 2 chain support is slightly bent
Hole 4 has a tree that has fallen close to the target just past and to the right of it.
Hole 6 the target there is pretty much fubar, it sits about a foot and half lower than it should and the cage section pretty much sits on the ground
Hole 11 of course has a large tree that fell on top of the target. From what it looks to me the tree has slipped off of the top of the target and the chain support is bent to hell, along with the pole making this one pretty much useless also.
Hole 12 has some broken welds on the chain support
Hole 15 has a chain that has somehow come off the chain support and is there in the cage section
Hole 16 hah, it's leaning up against a tree my guess is the mowers ran over it.

Other than that, alot of the tee signs are damaged or missing now also. We really need to get this course back up to standard. This wednesday bring a portable if you have one and we can put a new target on 6, 11, and 16 which are pretty much the only 3 that are unplayable in their current state.

I truley think that we just need to re-design nearly the entire course. Some of the hole out there could be incorporated into a new lay out but i think the majority of the holes just need to be taken out. If we put enought thought into it we could make Tyrrell a really nice course with a huge variety of different shots and at the same time we could do it in a way that #1 keeps the tractors away from the baskets and #2 keeps the holes out of the low lying areas.

I will be out at Tyrrell today at about 5:30 if ANYONE wants to play and discuss potential changes and or a plan of action. Hopefully I will see ya'll out there.

I have a replacement basket for one of the holes in my garage right now, I just need to paint it and set it in the ground. Will get that done sometime this weekend.

We went out today and put a new target which was donated by Thomas Bertrand, on hole 16. It is not in the same location that it used to be in so if you want a treat go play at tp. We also moved Hole 6 to the spot we had the portable on wednesday as we felt it enhanced the course to have it in that location. Hole 6 is also repaired and fully playable again, we put some screws and shims in the sleeves and pole and have it in working order again.

Oh I almost forgot...Big thanks also to all the people who have come out to the minis to help raise the money for the course improvements!

At this rate our courses will all be in world class condition in no time.

Some people have complained in the past about not being able to find their way around the course, like the people a few weeks back that I played about half a round with before our mini out at tp. I was thinking about getting 18 bricks and painting an arrow on them and sinking them in the ground next to the hole. Think that would be a good idea or a putting distraction? Would like some feedback on it before we spend money on paint for the bricks, i can get the bricks at work.

I don't see why they would be a distraction. That idea is better then any other alternative in my opinion. If we were to put arrows on trees then they would get pulled down, if we were to put signs with arrows that stick out of the ground then they would get mowed over. I honestly don't think that anyone would say that it was a distraction, and it is certainly better then having new players or out-of-towners not being able to find the next hole.
