Today, June 30th, me and Neal put in the basket John fixed on hole number 17 to have a complete 18 holes. We put the basket where we have been playing #17 in the flip doubles on Tuesdays.
They were cutting the course and moving dead wood today also.
Now all we have to do is redesign the whole back nine or so.
Fuzzy, do we have to move all of the holes across the road or just the one near the stables?

Dustin is the man to talk to about that.
From talking to him I am under the assumption that all the land that 15 fairway(now 14 i guess ) will be taken over by the stables. Which means you lose that hole and the tee box of the next. It laso means that you lose the flow to get over to the land where 17(now 16) is., which in turn means you lose the flow to get to where yall just put that basket at today.
Bottomline is that the city screwed up. They gave us permission to do something then after it was done they changed their minds which totally screws everything.
Are we going to have to TOTALLY redesign AGAIN, i dont know. Are we going to have to just redesign the back nine, I dont know. Personally I am open to anything. I will help design, install or whatever needed of me, but I won't be heading up the project this time around. Whoever does wish to take on that task needs to be in constant contact and getting firm approval from the city for a long term design.

I talked with Jeff today about getting Tyrrell's teepads right before the big GCCS trny. Him and I both agree that #2 through #17 all need to be #erd correctly. I say we take #2 Teepost; repaint it, stencil #17 on it, and move it to the new location along with the rest of the teepost that need be stenciled. We both know that Tyrrell's new layout has issues with the stables being expanded, but until they make us move the two holes in question, we can make the course right for now. If anyone has an opinion on how to make Tyrrell right speak up!!

Another idea we thought up was moving the teepad for #17 across the street making the out-of-bounds alot more in play!! Makes a long hyzer shot across the street to the new hole location. Pretty sick!!

I didn't want to throw over the road on hole 15 / 14 or whatever it is now originally but w/o doing that the hole was a cookie cutter 3.
I think throwing over a road that people drive on is a bad idea personally especially if you intend to run a tournament with potentially 50 or 60 people there. In casual or local play where you only have 10 to 15 people on the course at any given time dealing with cars driving by at the same time you are attempting to play a hole that crosses a street is not an issue. In a tournament it's likely that every group that crosses the road will have the potential to be a dumbass and throw while a car is passing.

We are looking at playing to the basket right before #14s teebox (hole 13) then walking across the street to the right field where it ok to have holes and then play 2 holes there. First, we'd put a tee box somewhere near the road playing back toward #15s current basket. Then have #16s teebox over to the right of that pin somewhere playing back towards the road for a short walk after that to #17s current teebox and current hole then 18s current layout. Confusing? We'd be 1 hole short of 18 holes but there are some other modifications being discussed such as possibly moving #2s teebox to this side of the creek trying to remedy the 2 fairly long opening holes. Current #6 may need some modification due to the constant fairway flooding and well maybe the length also. Fuzzy mentioned 2 possibilities for the extra hole; 1.) a hole playing completely across the road running along the par 5, and 2.) hole #7 (muddy teebox hole) Play much further to the right for maybe a 250 ft. hole and then the extra hole which would be #8 plays back towards somewhere close by where current hole 9s teebox is. Fuzzy, I was trying to figure out how we could tie the hole in across the road of the par 5. You know, that flow of the holes thing.?
