Alternate Holes

Each hole out on the island has 2 pin placements. Through the years however, alot of the alternates have been lost or even worse, mowed over and damaged pretty bad.

We went out today and looked for some, The mosquitoes were pretty bad so we really didn't play a round, just ran around the course looking.

From what i can remember here are the holes which we have a known alt placement we have found.

(A)=Original (B)=Alternate (+)=Usable (-)=Unusable

Hole 1 - A+, B+ repaired and replaced.
Hole 2 - A+, B+
Hole 3 - A+, B+
Hole 4 - A+, B- is nowhere to be found, I know an approx loc
Hole 5 - A+, B+
Hole 6 - A+, B+
Hole 7 - A+, B+
Hole 8 - A- found but baddly damaged and unusable, B+
Hole 9 - A+, B+
Hole 10 - A+, B- is nowhere to be found, I know an approx loc
Hole 11 - A+, B- is nowhere to be found, I know an approx loc
Hole 12 - A- is nowhere to be found, I know an approx loc but?, B+
Hole 13 - A+, B- is nowhere to be found, I know an approx loc
Hole 14 - A+, B+
Hole 15 - A+, B- is nowhere to be found, I know an approx loc
Hole 16 - A+, B- is nowhere to be found, I know an approx loc
Hole 17 - A+, B- is nowhere to be found, I know an approx loc
Hole 18 - A+, B- is nowhere to be found, I know an approx loc

I need someone who has access to a metal detector to meet me out one afternoon with it and we can find / dig up the rest of the pin placements. I dont have one and it's too hard to find the holes by just going around looking for them with your eyes.

either myself or keven... i can go to his house and get it just about any time... say the word and i or both of us will be there. oh, and you messed me up out there tommy! i made the perfect drive on hole six. parked it right inide the dirt patch, only to find that the pin had been moved.... good placement though, i like it. however on five... nope, no sir. no sir, i don't like it. just when i was getting to where i can drive to the hole for a par 3, you moved it another 100ft... grrrr! :lol:

hole 5 is now in its original positon ransom... it plays better on the long then it does on the short... trust me...

Hole 14 is in original position, 5 is still in the B slot unless someone else went ahead and moved it back.

Well, we found out today that most if not All of the alternate sleeves are gone or, we aren't going to find them. We had 2 metal detectors out there and me trusty shovel and didn't find a damn thing. We did find a few holes in the ground where what looks like a sleeve buried in concrete once was.

When ya'll left the airplane flew overhead spraying the skeeter dope. Looks like Wednesday may turn out to be a great day afterall!!!

maybe James Culver has a map of the kisselppoo .. we could try to find some of those sleeves... worth a shot

That, or we could just get some pipe and make our own, dont seem to hard to do.

I have a map to Kisselpoo and have tried to find those sleeves with a metal detector before with no luck at all. Looks like we are gonna have to just make all new sleeves.

what size pipe is needed? i'm sure i can get some from the laydown yards at work, just need to know what size. two inch if i remember correctly...

The exact specs would be 18" x 2 1/8" OD tubing for the anchors.

We definitely should set up kisselpoo if the resouces allow. That course was great. If you need help, I am willing & able. Too bad ponderosa is impossible.

It would be nice to set up the kisselpoo again, but that most likely will never happen either. I think the city said that if we wanted to, we could go dig up the kisselpoo sleeves and sink them in berry's treasure though if we could find them.

I read somewhere, there are going to be some ALT holes for PIAC. I cant fiond any mention of them here, as I was lead to believe....

there is alot of water on the course from a new way they are dredging the ship channel, hole 5 has this big ass lake right in front of the tee, if you cant throw a pretty good ways with accuracy you are swimming, hole 12's basket is sitting in about 1 foot of mud and water up to the cage, hole 13's tee is in about 4 to 5 inches of mud and slightly under water, so 12's hole will be moved, 13's tee is going to be moved. Other than that i think it's gonna be played like it is. They thought about going across the road to play a few holes there, which is still a possibility we will have to see as it gets closer.
