Port Neches Park

Earlier this year there was an article in the Port Arthur News that said that Port Neches Park wanted to install a disc golf course on the new land that they just purchased from Huntsman. That article was the last I heard of that idea.

Does anyone know someone from the Port Neches Parks Department that they can contact to find out if that idea is still on the table?

I think if they are still open to the idea that we could all pull together our resources and come up with all the information and labor that may convince them that a DG course would be a great investment for them.

Can you imagine the exposure that disc golf would get in this area if we were able to get a course put into such a high traffic park such as Port Neches Park?!? If the opportunity is there i think we need to make an effort to make this one happen.

I usually come to Port Neches to stay with family here. It sure would be great to have a course down the road.

Any word on if this could ever come to fruition? Mid-County is just dying for a disc golf course and Port Neches Park would be a great place. So many disc golfers live in Nederland and Port Neches. I bet this would REALLY spark new interest. I'd be willing to support this in any way.

Pt. Neches is not willing to give up park space and Nederland doesnt have the room for a course....

I certainly plan to next time I'm in town. I checked out the new layout map and it looks very interesting.

Still wouldn't mind seeing a course in Miid-county though. My little sister has lots of high school friends from PNG and Nederland. Knowing them, I bet they would really take to the sport if there were a course right down the road.
