The ice bowl is an annual event that disc golfers everywhere organize to raise money for a local charity in their area.
All proceeds raised will again benefit the Houston Food Bank, which will be used to feed the many hungry in the Houston area.
The HFDS Ice Bowl will be at Agnes Moffitt Park on Saturday, February 5th. Registration is $5 per person. Sign up is at 9:30 AM and tee of will be at 10 AM.
Last year HFDS raised $5,005, which was the second most, and won a portable Discraft Chainstar basket. For a dollar a throw you could win this basket in the CTP contest at the ice bowl event.
To encourage the growth of disc golf, this year you have the option of playing in a doubles format, if you bring a partner that is new to disc golf. New to disc golf is defined as never to have played in a tournament or league. Both the player and the new player will receive a brand new disc with their $5 registration.
Ed Morgans discathon, an associated fundraising event, will be on Sunday, January 30th, at Agnes Moffitt. Get your friends, family and co-workers to make a pledge per hole and come out and see how many holes you can play in a day. Prizes will be awarded for most holes played that day and most money raised. Remember, if someone doesnt want to make a pledge per hole, they can always make a flat donation. Make all checks payable to the Houston Food Bank
If you have something to donate, that can be used for awards or CTPs, feel free to bring it out. Please encourage all you friends to participate in this fun and worthy cause.
