The course was very wet with large puddles everywhere. It was lots of fun, though. If you know Moffitt then you know the course plays very easy from the short tees, mostly hyzer drives. I think that's the course Kenny shot a 5 or 6 down on.
In this tournament they use the 5 Stroke Cards which makes things very interesting towards the end. You were given five cards that you could give someone else on your card which requires them to throw a particular shot; sidearm, pancake, thumber, roller, and lefty putt!!
I shot the 2nd best 1st round in Rec with a -1 getting me on the final card. At the end there were 3 of us tied for 1st place. We all shot about +6 on the 2nd round which was from the long tees. One of the Houston locals made a birdie on the first playoff hole to break the tie. I was happy with a tie for 2nd.
Larry Kruse ran a great tournament giving out bundles to all the winners. I won lots of neat discs, minis, shirt, towel. I also won 2 more Raffles and on an auction I picked up a Innova cap and a Elize Z Flick for $9!!!
We had a great time at the Icehouse for steak and awards after the tournament. I encourage all the locals to try to make this event next year as it is lots of fun and the payouts and raffles were awesome. I hope to see many of our locals out at Nacogdoches on Apr. 2 and 3 for the 6th Annual Pecan Park Open.
