For those who do not know, Matt and Dee won their divisions at the Pleasure Island Am Championships this past March. Matt lives in Livingston and De'atra lives in Houston. They become the second and 3rd World Champs from the city of Houston.
Matt was in a field of 32 players in the Junior Boys 16 and under division. He finished the 8 round and final 9 with a -9 and won by 9 strokes over second and was 15 strokes better then 3rd. Matt hung around the lead for the first 5 round and poured it on in the 6th round and didn't look back. In rounds 6,7 and 8, he shot a 47,54 50.
Dee was in a field of 7 Advanced Masters Women and finished her 8 round and final 9 with a + 93 and won by18 strokes over second and 23 strokes better then 3rd. She led from start to finish.
In the Open Men, Barry Schultz (-42) won his second World Championship in a row holding off Ken Klimo (-33). What a way to start a tourney, Barry opened up with a 41 ( -13) and in round 5 he had a 42 (-12) and in round 7 he had a 43 ( -11) .
