we need a quick fix at tyrrell before the lone star series. 15 basket is gone and 16 tee box.

I'll say it again, a quick fix is not what we need. While I know everyone has there ideas etc it is just not gonna work to go squeeze holes in.
There is a right way to do things and that is what needs to be done. I get the feeling that poeple just think i am talking crap but I have done my research on design, and while I may not be great at it I do know that just throwing things together does not work. I know time and labor is an issue but if all else fails the LSS may just have to be Klein and PI, which would be better then some make shift course at Tyrrell imo.

I know, I know. When I said "quick fix" I meant we need to get Tyrrell fixed quick, not half-assed. I will be at tyrrell tues. to try and restructure some holes to fit in the 4 we need without changing the overall layout within the loop. Some of the holes need to be adjusted, some tee boxes moved. We also need to paint the tee posts with the correct #'s so that there is no confusion at the tourney. I am going to make this coming Sunday a volunteer work day so I need some volunteers. I am going to come back from huntsville Sat nite, so I think sunday we should meet at 3:30 to knock everything out. I'll start a thread about the work day. We do need to get the new design figured out Tues. so this work can get done.

Okay me and Jeff went out today and figured some stuff out. WHile we added a bit of work I think we got something that we can stick with for awhile. Obviously not everyone is gonna fall in love with everything we are doing and we may have changed some things that some liked but for the big picture i think we got something good and challenging. Here is a run down of what we want to do:
#1 - we changed it. It willl tee from the same general area but is shorter and plays closer to the cable. Annie or low skipping hyzer. Distance is roughly 290 feet.
#2 Tees form near the cable on the same side of the ditch as #1. OB is all along the left side and will come into play ofter. Straight shot with a bomb hyzer route that could be played. Distance is roughly 260 feet.
#3. Tee comes back a few fett and basket moves over into the trees near wheer we hang out kind and pushed furtther back. Distance is is close to 600 feet and will play as a par 4.
#4 No change.
#5 The par 4. no change.. except consdiering moving the basket slightly.
#6 tees well over to the right of the current tee. Very wooded straight shot. Distance roughly 275 feet
#7 Another heavily wooded shot, has a few options on routes and plays toward the the middle of old 7. Distance is roughly 310 feet
#8 Triocky low hanging branch off the tee . Prett much a straight shot playing in the same direction(ish) as the previous hole. Distance is roughly 260 feet
#9 Is the s-curve hohle that plays along the little ditch through there. No change except the tee is conna move over a bit to dryer ground.
#10 Is the hole before the par 5. No change.
#11 The par 5. No change
#12 is a annie shot. Distance is aorund 340 feet.
#13 Is a spike hyzer playing rou ghly towards cu rrent 12's tee form back in the woods right of previous 11's basket. Distance is about 290 feet.
#14 is a slight annie shot playing to current #12 basket. Side arm wou ld work nice here. Pretty open hole on the annie. but the hyzer route is heavily guarded. Distance is about 300 feet
#15 We extended the par 4 hole. Bring the tee way back and basket stays. Distance is now about 720 feet.
#16 If you remember OLD #16 form before this last design, it plays form the trre in the middle of the big field to about 60 feet further back into that tunnel where the basket was. Basically a spike hyzer hole but there are other options. Distance was around 300feet.
#17 is OLD #17 being brought back form retirement. And before any one says " you just wanted that holes back cause you aced it 3 times" , it was Jeff's idea to work slip that one in and it was the best option we had for adding another hole in.
#18 no change.
Hopefully you guys can figure out in your head what I just said. I am pretty sure I have that all right.
And Yes i realize my spelling sucks....lmao

oh and Jeff... Rough calc on the overall distance is just over 7200 feet. You should have bet me money...lmao I thought for sure we shaved more feet off then that. Guess my mental tape measurer and my mental compass are both outta whack...lol
Btw, the log did a number on my ankle, guess i shoulda walked off the course and went home right then. Damn half baseball that was growing on the side of my ankle is back with a vengence. Add another couple more weaks to rehab. I have to be the unluckiest person on earth ....lol

Yea but your a trooper!!!! What fuzz didn't mention is that he still tried to throw some of the lines after twisting his ankle again (the man feels no pain, or likes it one of the two). The new design is going to make tyrrell more challenging than what it was. The trees come more into play because alot of times you will be playing around them through gaps instead of a tunnel right at the basket. I really hope everyone likes it (yea right, everyone pleased, doubt it). I brought in some of the guarded basket ideas that I saw on a lot of courses in NY, which means the landing zones for the different shots need to be hit more consistantly to have a open shot at the basket. They kinda play like 15 kleins basket.
