I won the Intermediate division, there were 14 people in it, first round i shot a 50 from the long tees, second round a 46 from the short tees in pretty much a driving rain off and on throughout the round. My card ended up taking a stroke penalty for not starting the 2nd round in the driving rainstorm when they blew the horn. A few minutes later thunder and lightning happened and the tournament was delayed. So for the tourney I ended up with a 97 and won by 1 stroke over Chris Flesner (think i spelled his name right) We will get the full details of the tournament up and do a news article in a little bit. I am very tired right now from today but man that is a fun course.

robert played a really good first round and was 57 on the long tees. In the second round the rain really played havoc on his game and he shot a 64 and ended up 13th overall.

First round there was not a put i couldnt make. But my drives on 4 holes went astray. I have not putted this good in awhile. BUT the second round was a total bust. IT poured on us for the first half of the round and then , while we were totally wet, the sun came out and baked us. It was miserable BUT we enjoyed the Tourney. 2 Lessons learned,
1, the candy plastic and your hand both need to be dry together. May have to invest in some rosin or stickum. Always keep some old school plastic in your bag just in case.
2, Do not let bad weather get in your head. It was raining so hard that i let it play me instead of playing through it. Will not happen again.
It still was alot of fun.
And you kept smiling through all that crud as well - I think we set the record for most sweat on a card in a DG Tourney! It was a pleasure playing with you Robert! Congrats on the win Tommy! I jope you are not planning on playing intermedaite at the Classic

Maybe I will have an official rating by then and most likely play in whatever it puts me in =) As far as how well I played yesterday it was a fluke! You would not believe some of the puts that I was making on a consistant basis. Anything from 20 to 40ish feet was in the basket. I had problems with the ones from 10ish to 20 feet though, I missed 4 birdies by low putting in the first round from the shorter range. I dont think I missed one of the 20 to 40's all day though it was pretty sick.
Great putting - I wish I had played well enough to see it lol
Unless the Bayou counts toward the ratings (which me and Fuzzy do not think they will), you will be rated adv. for sure next time they come out after yesterday :D

I am a positive player there Gimp. It doesnt matter how weel or how bad i shoot, i am going to have a good time and try to help everyone i am playing with have a great time too. Reguardless if it is raining so hard that you can not see the basket or the tee box is so muddy, slippery or full of water that makes it hard to tee off. LOL or even if my Playing partner Carrys that dammed Powder blue UNC umbrella around. I actually had a great time the second round. Even if my scores dont show it. I learned alot from all 3 of my playing partners that will help out. Thanks guys, look forward to the next one!!

We are going to be going over to the ACADIANA PARK-LAFAYETTE, LA 3rd ANNUAL LATE SUMMER FEST DISC GOLF TOURNAMENT
SEPTEMBER 13, 2003
It is a ~SOUTHERN NATIONAL QUALIFIER~ like we are going to be having on October 19th. There is a story on the main page of the site about this with some comments but I thought that I would mirror that small discussion here in case some missed it.
We are going to be taking the mini-van over to LA and have room for 4 people with us, 5 people if one is small or you feel like being cramped on the back bench seat. Let us know if you want to come either by Private Message on the site, email, or call me 729-4871.
This tournament is the week before the Texas States so if you want to go over and play there that is totally understandable. The reason I wanted to play this rather than tom bass warmup was in the past I have got burned out on the powell/wilmont course the week before practicing them and didn't have a great round. I like to play a course when it is still pretty fresh but that is my own personal preference.
So lets us know if you want to come, the information on the tournament is on the Calendar on the main page of the site for fees and such.
