This summer we plan on running League play instead of weekly minis. The leagues will happen on wednesdays like last year. We will have ace pot and mulligan in play as well. All color coded divisions will be offered.
League Price will be a one time fee of 20 bucks payed up front. Each week you have optional 1 buck ace pot, 1 buck mulligan, one mulligan per round, does not carry over to next week.
scroll down for more details...
I cant wait for 'em to start back up.
Seems like a good plan to me.
I really wished that we could run 2 seperate mini's during the summer on different days at Klein and the Island, but I know I cant dedicate myself to a weekday anymore.
If were lucky, maybe someone in Beaumont would like to run the weekly mini at Klein, and you two could run the PA mini.
Ill see everyone at the PA tourney, hopefully, my new job may not let me take the weekend off.
I guess I could just quit.................. lol
Oh yea, we should change the name of the tournement in March to the Pleasure Lake tourney.....................

Mulligans will go back into the payout at the end in the form of something yet to be determined.

Summer League I
All of our color coded divisions will be offered.
Cost:
League Price will be a one-time fee of $20 paid up front. Each week you have optional $1 ace pot, $1 mulligan. One mulligan per round does not carry over to next week. Mulligan money will go toward the League Pay out.
Points:
Only your top 4 point totals will count.
This is so that you don’t necessarily have to show up all six weeks. This will also give more people an opportunity to register.
Points will start calculating after the 3rd week (Final week of registration). This is so that we can take the total amount of people in each division and calculate the points up in a fair manner to those who play the first two weeks when there might not have been as many people in their division.
For showing up you will get at least 10 points, those who do not show up for a week of play get 0.
You get 2 point for each person in the division that you beat. 1 points for each person you tie with.
Tiebreaker system:
1. Total lowest score of the four events that counted
2. Total number of 1s, and 2s of the four events that counted
3. Least amount of 4s or greater in the four events that counted
Location:
Each Wednesday we will play at 6:00pm at the following locations.
April 7th -- Pleasure Island
April 14th -- Pleasure Island
April 21st -- Tyrrell Park
*Last week to register for League Play Apr. 21*
April 28th -- Tyrrell Park
May 5th -- Klein Park
May 12th -- Klein Park
May 19th -- League Party
Chula Vista Mid-County behind Central Mall
League Awards:
On Wednesday May 19th we will be meeting at a local area restaurant. There we will have a bite to eat and hand out the League Awards.

I went out and posted a flyers about the league at each course, hopefully the word will get out and we will have a fair turnout.
As of right now, we are planning on payout out using the plastic that robert has left over from last summer, the stuff that kimhak let him sell.
I am thinking about going over to divers den however, to try and work out a deal for a special price on their discs for league members. If I do that we will pay out with gift certificates to there. I am also going to talk to them about also getting T-shirts, caps and other disc golf apparel.

The winner of each division will be getting a full color plastic bag tag showing that they are the league champion. The tags are at the printer now and are going to look super sweet!
I'll explain how the mulligans will work here as well. You are allowed to buy 1 mulligan per day to be used during that round for an extra shot where one may have been bad. If you use the mulligan you must use that shot wherever it lands.
When you purchase your mulligan, you will be given a raffle ticket which you are responsible for keeping up with. At the league party we will be raffling off something nice and the only way to get in on the raffle is to buy mulligans. YOU MUST BE PRESENT TO WIN! So if you want to win the mulligan raffle, you gotta be at the league party. Doing that so that people who may not have won anything during the league would have a reason to go to the party. The raffle prize will depend on how much mulligan money we collect but it should be nice.
The ace pot is currently at $174 and will be carrying over from last years events. If you hit an ace during a round that money will be yours then. If multiple people hit an ace during a round, the money will be split between them after the round no matter which hole the ace was hit on or who hit first.
Below is an example of the bag tags you will be winning, they are 3" wide by 2" tall and high quality stuff.

Here is an example of the way the scores are going to be broken down. This is not Official but an example. After the final registration is closed on the 21st I will put up the points for the first 3 weeks.
Week 1 4/7/04 Pleasure Island
Gold Score Points
Tommy Winfrey 49 14
Roy Tritico 54 11
Rufus Manley 54 11
Green Score Points
Dustin Galamor 51 18
Danny Wise 54 16
Robert Winfrey 56 14
Kenny Johnson 58 11
Russell Gil 58 11
Blue Score Points
Tim Robinson 59 12
Ed Sparks 63 10
Purple Score Points
Tim Fitzwater 67 12
James Baker 70 10
As you can see, even though Dustin shot a 51 (-3) he only has a 2 point lead over 2nd place. and at the end you are only keeping your top 4 point totals. Remember this is not official scoring / points but an example of how the system will work.
