I have removed the course conditions temporarily. They should be back up by the end of the week. I am working on a way to make it easier for us to update them. Currently I have to manually update the html in the file for each item that is changed. Soon "if" it works, we will be able to update it by clicking a pull down box and clicking submit.

If all goes well, I should have the course conditions back up tomorrow sometime. It is going to be soooooo much easier to update also.

The course conditions are back up. I am still working on the actualy display format. Soon the Course name will be either above, or below the images in text which you should be able to click to update the course conditions yourself. This will take alot of the work away from me and make the information up there alot more accurate since I dont play every day.

For now though, with Internet Explorer, if you hold your cursor over the images you will get the course description. Netscape users are sol.

I am working on something for the course conditions so all of the text on the site will not be formatted right for a few minutes.

Hey, if anyone has been out to the courses, please let me know how the grass and bugs are. It is alot easier for me to update them now compared to how it used to be. I am still working on a way to allow other people access to update it. That's not coming along so well though heh.

Let me know the conditions here though or on PM's

I fixed the course conditions thing so that i can set anyone up with the ability to update it. If you want to be someone who updates course conditions on this site send me a PM or reply to me on this topic.

I added a little javascript horizontal text scroller that shows the course conditions up at the top. Let me know if anyone is having problems with it. You may have to install a javascript plug in from sun microsystems to see it.

Hey, is anyone having problems with their internet explorer or netscape locking up while trying to load the page? I think i am having a problem with the little text scroller. Just wondering if it's just me or other people having the problem also.

In the next few weeks, i'm going to be redoing the way the course conditions display on the main page. This should decrease load time and hopefully keep people from locking up their browser while accessing the page. I think it has something to do with the javascript text scroll thing.

That's good news, Tommy. I like to keep up with what's going on up there but my machine at home has not been able to load the page properly since the streaming conditions were added. I can access it at work, though. May be a Mac thing. Later, Kevin

I need your feedback now.

I removed the javascript text scroller from the top of the site. Let me know over the next few days if that has fixed your loading problems.

If the javascript was causing the problem, I can go from here and see about getting something that's a bit more stable to display the course conditions than that little script I was using.

So, let me know if you are still having problems.

Can someone keep up with the course conditions on the site for me. I don't really get out to the courses much anymore, but there are alot of people with the ability to update this.

If you can't update the conditions on the site but want to, let me know here or via PM and i'll set you up to be able to update them.

I left Groves in the middle of a downpour this morning around 10:45 to go check out the Island. The way it was raining I figured I would ride out there and turn around and head home. When I got to the course the sun was beaming. I got in 18 and could have played more. There was standing water on most tee boxes, but the course was very playable. A word of warning though, don't forget the Off.

minis are usually posted on the home page of the site. Usually they are at 6pm tuesday and thursday at klein and we are starting a mini on wednesday at the island. I have also started a sat morning mini for those who like to get out early and tee off around 9am. The courses rotate for the sat mini and Next week will be tyrrell. The games played on sat also change up. Last sat we played 666 doubles. next week, who knows maybe skins or something. No sat mini this weekend because of the players championship.

Hey Johnny boy, can't make it today. It's Tirsha Grice's (vortex owner) bday and we are partying out there tonight. Probably go out to the bar about 8 or so. I'm going to make it an early night since we have to get up at the butt crack of dawn. Man 6:30 is going to come early! Thanks for the invite. See ya manana.

I'll play this evening. Give me a call. Why aren't chad, Kevin, Rueben, Cody, Brian, etc... in on the minis??? Tuesday flip doubles is purely random so there is a chance two "Rec" players may end up on the same card but it's just $5 bucks!!! We'd like to have you guys play. And any one of you guys would've won Rec last night; the winning score was +16 by Kirby and Jarred. :?

I've got a wedding tonight so I can't play. Looks like rain though. Wear your cleats for tomorrow and maybe some rubber boots for tyrrell!!!

The island is cut! The mosquitos were not as bad as the last time I was there, but it was raining today. I temporarily fixed #10 basket with some plastic ties. It makes the inner chains slightly stiffer so I didn't put many on, but it will work for Sat. until we can get it permentantly fixed.

Neal, I'm pretty sure the deal with the Rec. players is the money. $5 may not be much for you and me, but a lot of people play disc golf because it's free or really cheap. It has been discussed that we may want to start a $2 flip doubles with a buck ace pot for a total of $3. Also, Rec. player tend to be the players doing purely for the fun of it with no concerns over who wins or loses. The more we involve money, the more we turn people away.
