Summer league 2006 kickoff!!

Wes has called and volunteered to run the first of a series of 4 week minis. First round is this wednesday at the island. since we have changed from a 6 week structure to a 4 week structure we will play the island for the first 2 rounds and Klein for the 2nd 2 rounds with 1 round drop. beg. free with no payout, rec-adv $20 non members fee of $5. he will be selling mulligans for $1 a pop that will go towards rebuilding tyrrell park. And there will be a carry over ace pot. If you need more info contact Wes or post questions under this thread. Daylight savings goes into effect this weekend so daylight should not be a problem.

Roy, I have the shirts here. Havent printed them yet, still waiting on the sponsor info for the backs but will have atleast the fronts done by the end of the weekend. I got into a twist here with Pecan park Pre reg going through the roof so I am backed up. I should be able to finish them all before Wednesday, pending approval of the design and when I get all the sponsor info.

I have to collect the rest of the sponsor money and get some art for their logos. This is the first in a series of 4 week tourneys. T-shirts will probably be ready for the second round. the last card will probably start around 6 I guess. With daqylight savings time we can start a late card as long as we know your coming.

I am just guessing here(based on every league we have ever had) but....

Flex-start from 5:30-6pm and you are only allowed one mully per round. When you use your mully that is your shot, not like best shot dubs yuo dont get to pick.

Also, I spoke with Wes yesterday and I think we are going to run the league 6 weeks and drop 2 rounds. This will be a slightly more economical because their will be many leagues if we start this early. We will post the course schedule later but for now the first 2 weeks are at Pleasure Island.

Everyone who is a member of GTDG is current and will not have to pay the extra $5. We will have our annual meeting soon for the 2006-2007 memberships.

I'm not sure how ties and stuff will work this year but these details will be posted very soon and if you didn't play last year, please refer to the posts from last year's league for details.

Yes it will be 6 weeks, that makes it easier on people who can show up or just dont want to play the island because they can drop 2 rounds. Only one mulligan per round and the mulligan will get you a raffle ticket for a raffle at the party at the end of the six weeks. The money will not go to any tyrell reconstruction fund because honestly what differnece will $1 make. And I dont think any kind of fund should be started at least until the baskets that are at klein are put back. The first 2 are going to be at the island, the 2nd at klein and if the extra baskets are still at klein then I will probably incorporate them into the 3rd. Entry fees must be paid in full by the beginning of the third week, mulligan money at the beginning of each round. No IOUs or lottery tickets please. Depending on how many people show up there will probably be 3 divisions rec-am-open. Jeff had talked about a beginner division for without an entry fee but I dont think that will happen because i dont feel like tracking someones scores for nothing, let them fight it out in rec. There will be no sandbagging rec so competition should be pretty level.

Glad to see there is an Open division....I relaize there are no Pros here but the fact is the top division in our league IS Open ( Open to anyone who wants to play in it unlike all the other divisions....see the logic there Jefe :razz: )

I would suggest that Open be 40% deep, Am 50% and Rec 60%. That gives the Open winner a nice chunk of change and gives Rec players a better chance to walk away with something.

Actually it just depends on how you look at it but it is really a $25 entry and members get a $5 discount.

Hey Fuzzy... the PPO was pretty smooth. I really like Pioneer Park better though. Some of the tees at Pecan were horrific; downhill and slippery :evil: ! Anywho, like you said, it would have been nice to average about 4 or five down on each course. 18 under won the advanced by six strokes and yes it was Ian. He just turned sixteen earlier this week. That kid's got game !! btw... excellent job on the shirts and towels ! ! ! PEACE

As far as looks go, Pecan is better looking imo, but Pioneer is the more challenging of the two with more variety and length. Be glad you didnt have to play the mud though cause that kinda evens out the two courses as far as the playability.

Ian is pretty much a lock wherever he goes but you seemed to have faired real well considering you had never even seen the courses, high cash in that feild is badass! Nice shootin! And again, HUGE thanks for getting that stuff up there for me, you were my only hope and you came through! Thanks

Bobo... Bobo's gonna be dropping this round I think. I won't repeat Bobo's score since I know I've done worse several times, and since he doesn't get on the internet to see me ribbing him, but I must say I don't think John would have shot as well as he did, had it not been for Bobo's masterful performance. Even though he managed a smile through the whole round, he nevertheless "hates" the game, and is looking to sell the discs in his bag, and take up pocket pool.

Looks like the cashing spots are still open to alot of players in Open (assuming we are paying 3 which is a good assumption what is the payout BTW...50%-30%-20%???)

Anyway, D.Vance and Russell are out of the running for cashing spots according to my calcs.

If Rufus gets 5th or worse next week he is out of the cash even if he pulls a win the final week.

El Jefe has now used up his drops so he is solely dependant on how he finishes the next two weeks,if he pulls lasts place next week again then he is out of the cash and I beleive he said he wont be in attendence next week ...oops.

Next week if Matt beats Roy and finishes better then 3rd place he will jump ahead of Roy by 1 point.

If I beat Roy and Matt and place better then 3rd next week I will jump in the lead.

Went to Island yesterday. Mosquitos are there by the 1000000s. They liked to carried us off. Repellant did nothing! I think they thought it was seasoning.

My advise is to eat garlic or something, maybe that will keep the vampires away. :-P
