View Full Version : Maps and Navagation
I played Tyrrell during my lunch break today (+9). Since I had trouble navagating yesterday [missing arrow bricks and tee signs], I brought a print out of the color map (from the pictures). From what I could tell, holes 12 and 13 were not the same as portrayed by the map. I checked the older looking picture map just now that I'm back and it doesn't look accurate either.
Were any of the tee or basket locations changed since those maps were made?
Also, I couldn't find a tee box for #17 but there was a worn area just next to the ditch. Is that considered it?

12 and 13 should be pretty much right on. We moved hole 11 further back making it a bit longer than it used to be, but you still have to walk back toward the road from 11's hole to get to 12's tee, then throw up and across to 12's hole which is near a larger tree. Generally 12's fairway stands in water.
17's tee isn't quite near the ditch. if you are at the basketball court on the corner closest to the ditch, face the hole walk about 30 or so feet toward the basket and that's about where we would tee off from.
The pictures of each hole in the photo gallery should still be fairly accurate on where the tees and baskets are located. We made those tee signs back in 98 or 99 or so i guess and they have been through quite a bit of a rough life.
Come out this wednesday to tyrrell park a bit before 6pm and play in the league we have going, we have divisions for everyone from the advanced player to the beginner. cost is $20 for the league and we have 4 weeks left in it, 2 at tyrrell and at klein, along with our league party at the end. If you dont want to play in it, we can show you around the course if you wanna hang out with us.
The Red Bricks that help new players navigate the course, are missing at baskets 4,7,9, and 11. Plus the basket for 7 is broken.
If you are going to be out there putting in gold bricks, maybe check on the regular course too?

Josh, the broken basket on hole 7 has only been broken for 2 days. It will be fixed soon and before any alternate projects such as the gold tees.
Tommy can decide whether the directional bricks are worth replacing since he is the one with the bricks.
Keep in mind that this area does not have a club and that each project or everytime something needs to be fixed it comes out of one of us regular players pockets.
I will make a call today to see about a new pole for hole 7.
