We are not going to have a disc golf park in beaumont for the majority of the summer. Klein will be maturing (ground settle and grass growth) and will probably be in playable condition in 3+ months and back to a good condition in 6-8 months. Tyrrells baskets will hopefully be refinished in 2 months and ready to go in the ground. The island will be the only playable 18 hole course in the area. What suggestions do yall have? post up ideas. Maybe move kleins baskets to a new park like lefler? put them in tyrrell? find a sugar daddy to donate the money for 18 new baskets to put at tyrrell or a new park? I don't know but I am going to miss having a bmt course and we will loose a lot of the newer players, including those not involved in the club do to no bmt course. Im up for any suggestions? I will edit this post to change the poll when we get some ideas rolling.

Best scenerio i can see...
Take Klein baskets and move them to Tyrrell. We will have a fully functional 18 hole course at Tyrrell forever after that. While they are working at Klein we can finish getting the old TP baskets fixed up. When they are done with the ditch and leveling the ground in a few months, we can take the refinished baskets and put them in Klein. Klein will be a big dirt pit anyway so no sense in having all the best baskets out there. Over the months that Klein settles in and grass starts to grow back etc, we can raise money or what ever we have to do to have all brand new baskets out at Klein for when it is back to full-time playing condition.
Result:
We have a fully operational perma-Tyrrell.
In 2-3 months we have an 18 hole messy course out at Klein with semi-decent baskets to match the less then decent ground conditions.
In a year, we end up with a brand new top notch Klein and a fully operational Tyrrell.
In a year we have the 18 refinished baskets to goto another park.

I just got a call and was told Dustin had talked to workers on site and they said klein would be finished in 3 weeks. The parks dept told me 2 months. We were also told by the drainage dept that they would be in klein 3 weeks before they got there. I will put a call in to the superintendant at the drainage dept, and also the parks dept to try and get a completion date. Just because the work is finished dosen't make the course playable. time will tell.

Please, oh please let's put Klein's baskets in Tyrrell ASAP. What a great idea!!! :D But I guarantee you one thing, if the baskets are left at Klein during this city project thingy then I'll be playing the course even if I have to stand still to throw my drives. What do you say we put off Lafayette 'til next Saturday and do a work day this Saturday to move the baskets. And besides, it's Mother's Day weekend.

While the Leifler park idea still sounds neat to me, I think the scenario that fuzzy detailed is the most logical way of going about things. Plus Tyrrell is a lot closer for the potential Mid-county players who don't get all the way out to Klein as much. A redesign at Tyrrell would be pretty much a mandatory thing right? I played Tyrrell after the hurricane but before the baskets were pulled, and from what I saw, I don't think you could really put the course back the way it was.
I've got a discatcher sport portable basket that I'll lug around with me if nothing else, but as someone who normally plays several times a week, it'd be nice to minimize downtime if it's possible.

when we get the baskets finished, there will be a tyrrell redesign. Fuzzy is already working on some of that now. There will be 3 pin placements for each hole. This will be a much longer course than klein, it will be more like the wilmont at tom bass or the original tpark length. Fuzzy has in mind a 1000+ footer in the long pin placement for one of the holes. The course will most likely have 2 par 5s, 4 par 4s and 12 par 3s. At first all pins will be place in the middle pin placement. once we put in the other sleeves then we will make some ace run holes and some big arm holes.

Sounds good. Looks like I may be practicing in a field for a while after all.

sound a little skeered to throw 700+ footers.

That was in reference to there not being a park for a little while. Got to throw somehow, fields are there.
Tyrrell was the first and only park I played at for a couple of years, I ain't e-scared of nuthin there! Course back then I just played with a DX gazelle and sorta tossed it up in the air most of the time...
