Hi ya'll. I've wanted to play Disc Golf for years. Just never did it. Great to find this site.
I saw the discs in Academy but I'm not sure which ones to buy. I'm sure there are "driver" discs and "putting" discs but I don't know which is which.

Can ya'll help me in my decision on which ones to buy. Not sure if the size of the person is important but I'm 6 feet tall and 225 pounds. Oh and I'm 51 years old. Hahaha...And I don't feel old. So don't hook me up with a disc that a 110 pound girl would use.

I played on the Lamar U. Ultimate Frisbee team 20 years ago and I'm fairly accurate with a frisbee.

Ok now. Get me started. Oh and tell me how many different discs I'll need to play a game.

Thanks in advance...jim

Well. I just now found the GTisk Golf Menu and saw the "About Disc Golf" page. Got a lot of information there.

I'd still welcome any advice or tips from anyone. When do we play?...jim

Welcome..... Come out on wednesday and play with us. We are right in the middle of our league But we welcome you to play along with us. That is the night most of the regular disc golfers play.

Disc selection...There are so many choices and it overwhelms begining players. To Start i would say get yourself a Gazelle Driver or a Viper. Any putter would be fine for you right now. If you want to come out on wednesday i could loan you a couple for a round so you can try it out without spending any $$ at the start.

Glad you found the site.
