Having played a few rounds at this point, I've started to develop my own ideas about the subject of putting. Now, having been taught by a current world doubles champion ;) helps, but there are so many conflicting philosophies on putting that I thought it would be neat to get an idea of what everyone subscribes to in the area. Personally, I use whatever the situation calls for. If that means assuming a half split position and turbo putting around trouble, or lobbing a thumber putt up when there's no room on the right for a hyzer, then so be it. What about everyone else?

I'd vote but I am not exactly sure that I putt one certain way. I would vote for "All of the above" but I dont really do all of the above unlkess in extreme circumstances.
Hell with it, Ill vote for all since at some point in time I will and have used them.

Jump putts are "putts" but only from outside 3 meters. I consider a jump putt as more of an approach putt. I use the jump sparingly and its more like a falling putt for me with a little scoot at the end. Jump putts are effective because you get momentum going in a line at the basket improving accuracy. most of my jump putts occur between 50-80' shorter than that up to 33' I do a putt with a follow through (falling putt) and outside of that I do a finesse up shot.

so you keep your mouth shut when you putt? do you breath in or out through your nose when you putt? Just trying to keep the record straight!

In through the nose, out through the mouth, any time you use your muscles in a sport-type faculty, you should exhale on the power stroke. Exhaling contracts the chest muscles and gives you just that little bit more explosion to dig in with. I haven't concentrated on that while putting, but I probably should. It's especially helpful in digging down and getting a little extra power driving and throwing that high roundhouse kick ;)

Dont start concentrating on that now...your putting willl go to hell in a hand basket...ju st hold your breath...dont really need the extra power anyway itll just leave you long when you miss.

I played with jimbo slusher in doubles at states and he freakin snorts before his run up to take a deep breath then exhales in his follow through. he sounds like a deer snortin or something like that, its loud!

Do I hold my breath on the inhale, or the exhale? When I shoot(target shooting), I hold it on the exhale cause it lessens muscle tremors. I really try NOT to concentrate on anything when I putt, sort of a Zen thing - the non-minding way. The only time I miss baddly(discounting a high or low miss) it's always, ALWAYS because my footing was bad for some reason. When I can get my feet under me solid so that I'm not off balance at any point in my putt, I know it's gonna go in. THAT'S what I have to work on.
And with a name like Jimbo Slusher, what do you expect? Can't be any worse than D-Wise, lol. Vance takes a breath and holds it IN during his throws. That's completely counterintuitive to me, but it seems to work for him.

When I putt, i just chunk it up there & hope it hits something. Really though, I have found for me, if I keep my head down & eye on my target through the whole motion, it helps me a lot. I also putt at one chain link, not the whole basket if that makes sense.

Voted push putt but have been trying to use some hyzer when it gets around 25 ft. or so. After that, yes, you might see some high lob putts. :-D For me, putting is all in the feel; no aiming at a particular spot per se. Whatever works is always good!
And yeah, ya could've added "calet" double putts. There were 8 holes I didn't use any extra shots on however! -10 baby :-D
