Only 3 finished. Me/Doug(+3) Kenny/Lester, and Jeff/Neal. Bobo and Creamer made it to 13 before calling it quits.
Let me be the first to say, in writing, good GOD that course takes f'n forever to play. I dunno about that layout, it's nearly twice as much walking as there was before.
from the AM tee's, it might be twice as much walking
would be interesting to measure the walks and see
sturmgeist
07-01-2006, 12:42 PM
Am or Pro it's not gonna make a difference. You're still walking the same length. Think about it.

I think Kenny and I get some money for 2nd. I didn't realize everyone had left until I saw the parking lot empty. Don't know what happened there.....
Am or Pro it's not gonna make a difference. You're still walking the same length. Think about it.
I meant between holes
but since we're "thinking about it" i still say theres not much more walking than the last layout, just more scenery to look at
sturmgeist
07-06-2006, 02:20 AM
Nah, distance wise it's not really that much more, but it tends to feel like a lot more if you've got to trudge through the rough for 15 minutes at a time looking for a disc, like we did for your breeze on 15, lol. ;)
fuzzy
07-06-2006, 02:44 AM
well the course is 1000 feet longer then before from the pros. Thats approx. 20% longer. If it took one hour to play before with 3 people then add another 12 minutes to the new layout plus the time it takes to make the extra throws added to complete the course. Say it takes approx 30 seconds to make each throw and there is approx 6 more throws to make, times 3, adds about 9 minutes. Thats 21 more minutes to play with 3 people playing. That doesnt even take into account the added distance between holes.

Was up? I spoke with Ray yesterday and it seems they (whoever they are?) discussed donating the $ for the Night golf to someone or something. Anyway, I told Ray that wouldn't work. Payout is payout. He will get Jeff and I $6 each and Lester and Kenny $2 each. Just hit him up and be nice about it and he'll get it to ya.

07-10-2006, 07:40 PM
Wes, I'm not sure why you are name-calling. Every person I spoke to about it mentioned your name. I mean if we want to take up a donation then let's do that. Just don't go puttin' the freakin' payout any place but in the pockets of those who won, especially without checking with them first! As a matter of fact Wes, Dixie and Jarred share a birthday so where's his share??? Anyway, I've doubled my $$$ so it really doesn't matter.

Why is none of this a surprise to me? My first reaction was: "That's fucked up but it's none of my business..." but then I remembered, HEY, I paid in like everyone else that night. Just like the club, lol. I'm gonna try to convince myself that MY dollar was one of the few that did not find it's way back into his hands. Some people play for fun, some people play for fellowship, communing with nature, challenging themselves... or some combination of all those. Still, there are others who play out of a constant need to hear others praise them(when they can get in a word edgewise, when that person is not praising himself), and to snatch a dollar or two here and there from the pockets of those same people.
Neal, I know you are often prone to wondering "Why's evuh-body always pickin' on meee?" This is a prime example of why. Truthfully, I'll probably never be anything less than civil to you on the course, but that's just because I tend to be overly polite and accommadating. You shouldn't expect the same from most people, as they tend to have less reservations about being shitty to someone when given good reason.

Ray, Dixie and myself were the ones who initially planned that evening. It was John who started all the "it's Dixie's Birthday" stuff anyway. I'm just not sure what her B-day has to do with running a night mini???
It is real easy to decide to give away all the payout when everyone making the decision is on the "losers" card. I can't speak for Jeff, but I know Lester, Kenny, and myself all expected our proper payout as was the initial understanding before the round.
Don't screw around with the friggin' payout!!!! EVER!!!!! At least have the common decency to check with everyone first.

I'd hesitate to challenge you to ANYTHING for money Neal, cause you're the sort who'd try to find any way, legit or not, to try and win. I've SEEN you cheat at DG(YEAH, I'm pulling that card), I've seen you shave strokes, dropping 2-3 strokes between 2 holes with nary an ace coming into play, seen you take your second "practice" drive as your real drive, play off a second putt like it was your real one, etc. Probably more stuff that I haven't seen. And if you'll cheat in a casual round where nothing more than a tag is on the line, then a person would have to be a fool to put anything past you. And beating you has never shut you up before, at least not when I beat you, and I don't think it's shut you up when anyone else has beat you, cause, TA-DAH, you're still talking. And if I've beat you, then I think it's safe to say most everyone else has at one time or another, cause I'm PRETTY low down the ranks.
I don't know if it's because you work so closely with kids, but you've got that gradeschool mentality down to a TEE neal. You've got to beat someone at something, by ANY means available, to feel good about yourself? Prefferably for money? That's pathetic, really it is. Afraid to say, none of the games you mentioned is my cup'o'tea, though I would love to school your ass in Go. And while, Mortal Kombat is nice and all, I'd much prefer something along the lines of PrideFC or King of Pancrase rules. Open fingered gloves, gi, compression shorts or boxing shorts, Vale Tudo - no holds barred. Shinguards, knee and elbowpads(no metal frame models), and wrestling shoes(adidas or asiics) are optional. 1 single thirty minute round, or a 10 minute round followed by two 5 minute rounds(third 5 minute round if it goes to a draw) with.... let's say Dixie, Lexi, and Mindy as judges? No attacks to the mucous membranes, the eyes, prefferably no blatant attacks on the ears, and in cases where one opponent is outweighed by another by more than 15 lbs, the smaller opponent deems wether kicks and knees to the head of a grounded opponent are allowed.
Disc is fun and all, but  I haven't rolled in ages, and I don't fancy going back to classes and paying to do so when most of the techniques I like are illegal(in class).
But really, if billiards is more your thing... might I suggest pocket pool? It'd be right up your alley. You get to constantly tell yourself how good you are while you beat yourself...

SURE Neal, you've never cheated, just like you've never honked at people while they're putting(never done it multiple times even) you never throw out of turn, you never advance to your lie RIGHT in front of someone who's trying to throw, etc. Cheating's just a specialized form of lying. Don't worry Neal, I'm not gonna beat you up I was just telling you the sort of competition I'd prefer to beat you in. And if you're not up for(I won't say fighting) some good old fashiond pancratium in a semi organized yet unsanctioned contest(or series of contests... you'd probably draw a few challengers) then I'd ask you to kindly refrain from using the words pussy or coward in any manner outside of self-reference.

I was doin my VanHelsing impression, I misspelled warsheinlich. Means probably. The translators don't do much in the way of syntax. Aber, meine Deutsch is a bit rusty. Blutsauger you can translate phoenetically - Blut=blood, Sauger=sucker. The last sentence should probably be: Verstehen Sie sich Herr Martinez? (Do you understand, not they)
Anyway, all I'm saying, is that, if this one turns out to be that sort of undead, then ve hav vays of taking care of it. Probably unlikely, given that he's been out in the sun so often... but then sunscreen is some pretty powerful stuff these days. But if he is... der Herr sei uns gnädig!

And with a sweet ghost stamp no less... Anyway, thank you for salvaging that for me, I've been sweating that loss... got in the ditch multiple times to look for it... just left of the bridge at old #1. I figured you were referencing either blackheads(the black wasp) or pimples(my lost pink/red omega)... but to be precise, you pop pimples... you have to mash out blackheads.
And I can't send any money with you to worlds because I can't be sure you won't spend it on blood. That would make it "blood money". I know you probably aren't a vampire and all... probably... but in case you are, Hab keine Angst. Ich verde dir helfen. Du werdst deine Unruhe bald vergessen...

That would go into the ditch at klein and fish out discs, or sent jared in to do it, that i was never clear on, and then turn around and tell people he had their lost discs.... Only to charge them for it to get it back.... That was godly........
Then another time ( yes is is second hand info, but froma reliable source that has no axe to grind with him) was playing klein a few holes behind Kneel and his son. His son got a disc stuck in a tree and kneel was aparently having a decent round and got upset that he had to stop his momentum to getthe disc down. When it came down he wa so upset that he picked the disc up and threrw it the wrong way, out of the park and over the small ditch into that area behind the old #8 tee area. Then yelling at his son to go get it and to not throw it in a tree again.. Tough love ot is that how Earl Woods trained Tiger? Either way, another Godly incident....

Ooh, and I remember here not too long ago, Neal got his Monster stuck up in a tree after a foolish second or third drive on old #11, throwing an overhand shot. It was 20ft+ up in the bough of the tree and we did everything we could to get it down, including throwing John James' brass Ben Hogan signature putter up there at it.... which also got stuck. Ray finally threw a good pitch at the disc with a rock, dislodging it, and as soon as he got it back in his hands, Neal headed for #2. When asked why he wasn't helping try to get the putter down, Neal replied "I got my disc. What do you want me to do?" Shrugged, and watched.
Neal ended up getting the putter back somehow... and I think was claiming he climbed up in the tree to get it. Yeaaaaah don't see that happenin. What with his chronic, debilitating pain in the soles of his feet that returns every time he's shooting badly. Of course if he fed on a lost child right before, maybe he could make it up the tree.
One of the first rounds I ever played with him and Jarred, on old hole #1, Jarred smacks in a nice 10' putt - no loft, nose slightly up, straight line to the basket, a perfect putt. As we go to cross over to #2, Neal admonishes Jarred for putting with his backpack on, going so far as to threaten to spank him in front of ME

Also, if you have kids you'll know that they can drive you downright batty. How the heck is throwing dirt clods and sticks gonna get a stuck putter down? Wasn't coming down at that time but I do remember throwing maybe one stick or something anyway. :-D Oddly enough I did find it on another day lying beside that very tree.
Oh, you can surely imagine how his clarinet training has gone.
Robert, I would never charge someone to return their disc to them. Nor have I ever! It seems that you were misinformed. There are those beginners who I've known to want some reimbursement for finding my discs and I've gladly obliged with either a couple of bucks or many times a disc in return.

If you don't want things brought up in this public forum, don't act like a jackass in public. It's pretty simple actually, and none of this would have been said here if you weren't such a jackass in public. What you do behind closed doors with your kid or whoever else is your business. When you bring it out to the park it becomes everyone's business. Good or bad, I don't mind people posting that stuff here on this site.
You are right though, Leave the family members out of the discussion if they aren't part of the public display of jackassness. In your case however, I don't think that it was done at home.

You did mention a couple of times that you were thinking of starting to charge a dollar for the discs you drug out. I assume you were joking, but you did tell Dixie, of all people, that next time it would cost a dollar, and I told you very gravely, that you better not charge anyone for that. It's one thing to have an agreement with someone before you go in that, IF You find the disc, they reimburse you for your trouble. It's another thing entirely to trudge through the ditch just to get out all the discs you can, and hold them for ransom. And I know you haven't done it, but don't even try to play like the thought hasn't crossed your mind, because it has, and you happened to be thinking out loud at the time.
And if you don't want me to bring up Jarred, then you shouldn't have brought ME into your scalding of him. As I remember, you said "Don't make me spank you right here in front of Will, he was nice enough to quit what was probably a good round he was having to come play with us."

Just try to keep your mouth shut about certain things if that's at all possible. Rag on me all day long but leave anything negative even remotely concerning Jarred out of you conversation, please. Peace

It's not negative in regards to Jarred, Neal. I don't get where you're reading that. I don't have anything negative to say about Jarred, and even if I DID for some reason, I refrain from ragging on anyone who doesn't frequent the site.
