July 22, 2006, at around 3:30pm, Lester Perrin hit his first ever ace from the short box on hole #9 in the woods at Klein Park. Lester threw a lazer straight sidearm shot with his X-out champion Glow Firebird L. There was no left to right movement in the flight, and it slammed into the side of the basket, just short of hitting chains... but it STUCK! The driver wedged intself into the cage and was in no danger of spitting out, but we egged him on and told him to run up there and grab it before it fell out. It was easily the most awesome ace I've ever seen, and I don't expect to ever see a driver wedge in like that again. Good job man!
True to typical form, Lester followed his ace up with several bogeys, some worm burning, a couple of across-the-ditch OBs, a lost disc in the woods, a 4 putt on a birdy hole, etc... ;-)
