Updated scores..--Neal dropped to 43rd in his group after his second round
--Jarred is tied for 4th which is not bad considering the leader in
<13 boys division shot a 946 rated even round. Jarred only need
3 strokes for third & 6 strokes for second. The leader has the
field covered by nine strokes.
Erron Salazar, a very cool fella from Corpus is doing very well in that group,
also.

Sounds like Dave is kicking ass, unlike some other area player. Speaking of... I wonder if Neal has accrued any courtesy violation strokes? Surely they're not letting him carry the card?

Season in the Abyss or Divine Intervention? I can't rememeber - I haven't seen that in a while. They were great. They have a new cd coming out in a couple weeks - maybe it won't suck like the last couple. Dave Lombardo now is with a new fav band of mine Fantomas.

Divine Intervention. Short one, but intense. One of my favourites. A buddy of mine borrowed Decade of Aggression, their double live album, a few years back, and I haven't seen it since :-( Fantomas is weird but cool, had no idea Lombardo was with them... still waiting for Mike Patton to get SOME lineup of Faith No More back together for a reunion.

Neal bit the big one & had another bad round. Dropped to 51st after round #3.
Jarred had a good second round rated 822. Hes in 5th 2 strokes out of fourth & 6 out of third.
David Vance is all alone in 7th, only 2 strokes out of first.

not anymore....D Vance hiccupped and it looks like its gonna cost him.
Btw, at this pace my prediction of Neal not breaking the top 200 probably will hold up 8-)
WTG!! Jarred!! Averaging way above your rating..keep it up and do whatever you have to to have fun!

Your math would be correct. His four rounds in order rated..944...887...861...827. Ouchy !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Here's the rundown of the state vs state representatives at the midway point......
Texas-3
Michigan-2
Arizona-2
okie-2
Indiana-1
Missouri-1
Utah-1
Kentucky-1
*4 players tied for tenth
Looks like Ian Hovey has the best chance of bringing it home to Texas. He's tied with one other for fourth...9 strokes back.

looks like blackhawk is seperating the pack pretty good. did I read it right? jarrod shot a better rated round than his old man at blackhawk? I know they play different tees but still. Way to go Jarrod keep playing and having fun, thats what its all about.
I think me and dg are gonna try to play kiss the sky in aspen friday. My first time playing a true mountain course. Should be an experience.

i have been trying to figure it out but cannot come up with any scenario that would have an entire card get a 100 as their score.....I cant post on PDGA anymore...Kev get a post up over there, or we can wait and see if neal posts here tonight.

I posted over there,Scott. Maybe we can get a clarification. Jarred was playing very well with 2 rounds rated over 800.
fuzzy
07-27-2006, 10:03 PM
well it looks like when they turn the card in he'll be getting a 2 stroke penalty....if the card is never found then i think they have to go thru the round hole by hole with an official and agree upon the correct score....then add 2 strokes for late turn in.
CypressTrout
07-27-2006, 10:10 PM
Yep. That's better than a 100 though. This has got to be a great experience for him to play with other boys his own age who are very good . I'm sure they have elevated his game this week and will make him an even better player from now on.

07-27-2006, 10:20 PM
Well the good thing is that i dont think any of this would have made a difference for him. I think he was pretty much locked into 5th. Averaging 50+ points over his rating on the grand stage is awesome!
el-jefe
07-28-2006, 08:12 AM
I just read that jarrods card was turned in and witnessed by officials but cannot be found now. if so, once the scores are determined or the card found there should be no penelty strokes. I just hope this dosen't ruin it for jarrod.

I stand corrected...here i said that i didnt think it would matter if they got stroked or not etc....well i was wrong.... Jared SMOKED that round with a 868 rated round!!!! That atleast sets him up for a chance to get all the way into 3rd place! If he can do it one more round ....come on Jared..keep it up!!

Jarred comes out smokin again this morning! Shooting 100+ points above his rating AGAIN with an 849 rated round! Jarred has now catapulted himself into 4th place!!! He's got some work to do to hold off the guy in 5th with only one round to go and just one stroke between them. With the way he is shooting i wouldnt put it past him to go out in the final round and make a play for 3rd!

Jarred falls back to fifth.
Neal ends his am worlds experience in a tie for 190th place.
Still got the semi's left for Vance and Jarred. Vance needs to make up 6 strokes in the semi's and Jarred needs 2 strokes in order to make the final 9. It's totally possible if they just Git-r-dun!!

Oh please. That's a cold steel Voyager, made in Japan out of AUS-8a steel with a zytel handle. Half serrated, half plain edge, 5" blade, reinforced tanto point with a prominent yokote for detail work. The lock will support something like 150lbs from the handle, and the blade was still shaving sharp after shredding a couple hundred cardboard boxes when I moved. It's a finely crafted precision instrument, equally suited to skinning, piercing, seatbelt cutting, or tactical applications. And it's shown smaller than actual size in the pics there, lmao. I've heard it referred to as a folding sword. If any of you have something better, do tell. It'd have to be handmade, pretty much, to top it.
I know weapons like you guys know DG, lol. Especially bladed ones. I've got blades from Nepal, Malaysia, the Phillipines, Japan, USA, Canada. Weapons collecting was my thing for many years. Straight knives, folding knives, swords, escrima, yawara, etc. Though truthfully I'm only really competent with the use of 8 weapons ;-) shins, knees, elbows, and hands. I have a matching pair of each.

chessguy
07-29-2006, 09:03 PM
Hey, guys. I let Jarred read through your encouraging posts and he really appreciated your comments.
Paul, the guy who won Advanced also hit an ace!!! The leader has 2 strokes going into the final hole and he did a 150 ft. worm burner of sorts and threw to within 40 ft for par. Paul needed to sink a 70 footer for a chance for a tie and he just nailed it. The gallery went wild. Koontz misses his putt and they go to a playoff which was later won by Paul Ubiliari. This guy is 17 yrs. old and is a freakin' putting machine. He made a dang 3 on a par 5 in the finals. Hovey threw OB on like the 2nd to last hole.
We'll be headed back to Worlds in 2 Yrs where I'll give Advanced Masters a shot and Jarred should be pretty competetive as a 15 yr. old.
Oh, yeah. Wanted to share with ya'll that my wife told me yesterday that she is pregnant!
