Final League Party with Raffle and CTP

This is the last league that we will run this summer. There will be some minis and a player's championship later. There will be some sort of "ring of fire" for the Innova travel basket and raffles for the Innova goodies. We will need to do this at an outdoor location. I think the pavillion at the island would be a nice place for this. There will be a CTP for the ace $ if it is not hit today. It is over $200 and we will pay out 3 places. Anyone who has played league and has raffle tickets is welcome to come. You will have a chance to purchase more raffle tickets and shots for the travel basket.

So the question is - What day is best for most amount of people showing up and where? I want this to happen soon though. I'm only going to have this poll up for about 2-3 days max. We need to move on to a player's champ. and other stuff.

Also, We are paying out for this league and league 3!

Who all gets to throw-off for the acepot if it isnt hit today? For whatever reason it just doesn't seem right that any joe blow who may have played the first league or so and then never played another gets a shot.

It was announced that this would be the last league of the summer and it only seems fair to me that if you didnt play in it then you don't get to throw off for the pot. Then of course anyone who never paid into it shouldn't get to either.

I say we roll the pot. Start it off at 100 bucks and let it build on our fall weekend mini. Once its hit then we can pony up another 100 and start if off there again. That way we have a fat pot for the weekend mini and it still takes an ace to claim the pot. Or better yet buy throws for hole 2 and 18 at the island and during the party, take shots at the ace. If no one hits it ist that much bigger and we can break it up and use it at the weekend mini. All Im saying is that I'd like to see and ace take it and let it roll and get bigger!

Everyone who paid in (even if it is just for one league) gets to throw off for it. I would have prefered that you had to play in all leagues to go for it, but since i'm such a nice guy (and i didn't run all of the leagues) i decided otherwise. I understand that it really isn't fair that some just got in a time or two and get to go for the $ (that is why i'm paying out 3 spots) but i am really trying to err on the side of inclusion because of our lack of guidelines stated explicitly before the league started. Maybe next year we will have worked out most all of the rules and write them out for all league players. I would like to see concrete guidelines for payout, percentages, ace pot cap, etc. So if x number of people play in a division, x number are payed out in x amount of money.

I believe Bobo was CTP king last time we did one Neal! I remember cause I sponsored him. :mrgreen: You still ended up with the pot somehow but that's beside the point.

I like fuzzy's idea for one throw per league that you payed in for the pot. Of course that's probably just because I've only missed 2 league days the whole time. :-)

But this could all be a moot point. I'm out of contention for this league and I'm gonna be running at all 18 baskets for my #2 with reckless abandon. And I'm sure several other people will be too, so it could very well be hit tonight.

I have an idea too though, for CTP, an elaboration on Fuzzy's idea. If we start off with everyone having a certain # of throws, one for every league they played and payed into the pot, say you start with 3 throws. Everyone throws, using up their first throw. The 3 people who are closest advance to round two without using up one of their granted throws, but anyone else who has throws left can advance with them. Repeat untill nobody has any throws left. Elimination CTP. What do you think? It sounds elaborate but it would really only take probably 15 minutes at most, and it could be fun as hell.

Im for throwing off half and rolling the other half to the weekend minis. Just so the ace pot is fat for the start of the weekend minis.

:shock: My cool grey Innova Champion Discs shirt I won in the raffle hopped out of my bag on the course on the way to James' truck! Still in the bag and everything :cry: I'm heading out to the course in the morning to try and find it. I'll be out there around 9 if anyone would like to play an early round.

I had fun at the party. What was up with "Hands" Johnson? winning almost everything!!! not really but walking away with the traveler basket and all that raffle bOOty!!! His skillz showed, winning that putt off with no buy ins, straight up!!!! :shock: I hope everyone liked the payout, we will continue having a weekend mini that will count toward plastic. Whoever wants to host the minis can and it could be both sat and sun, doubles apply also if someone wants to organize a regular game. Whoever collects money needs to also keep a record of final results and turn them into Roy with the 2 buck per person entry. Ace pot money also needs to be collected, If you are not a gtdg member, you will only collect that days collection of ace pot cash if you hit one. Only members can hit the jackpot. Mulligans should be sold at the minis also to collect a little more fundage for the club. And then if thats not enough, you can add in another 2 or 3 bucks for a cash payout each round (optional). The variables are unlimited for anyone who wants to run a regular mini. DO NOT EXCHANGE CASH AT CLAIBOURNE PARK!!!! note it and collect off site. If we continue to have club activities and people like the minis, the club will continue to grow over the winter. Last winter it died off to next to nill for club growth. Make it fun and enjoyable for everyone who wants to play.
