Both of these low entry events will use the new MacGregor Gold format which is designed to simulate some of the risk reward shots of the United States Disc Golf Championship. It should be a blast playing the course with tons of OB’s and more length. The course will be NOTHING like you have seen before. There will be tight fairways, an abundance of OB, mandatory shots, and some of the signature touches used at the USDGC. More details will come as the course falls into place, but thoughtful shots will need to be made on the many risk reward holes you will be presented with. A flyer for each event is included below.

More Golden Disaster Info. May 8th and 9th
This may change a little before the weekend, but I wanted to give everyone an idea of what the course is going to be like.. Specifically there may be some OB added to hole 3 and hole 17 (this will be detailed in the players meeting).

This course plays very difficult and I am GUESSING that the WCP is going to be around 61 in decent weather. Also, we are going to offer pro on Saturday, but it is going to be for plastic.

Shoot me an email or give me a call if you have any questions.

All tees are marked with flags with the hole number on them. Every basket we are playing too today has a flag on the top of it. Baskets without flags are not being used. All mandatory trees are marked with ribbon except hole 7 which has painted ob on the trees. Each mandatory has a drop zone marked with a DZ on the flag. Please note that the descriptions on how to play each mandatory is included in the hole descriptions below.

If not mentioned in the hole description, on or over any pathway, walkway/sidewalk, road or parking lot is OB. All water on the course is considered casual. All string OB lines are defined by the string when it is held straight and tight between the two nearest stakes. When teeing off in the street/median, or near a street, wait as long as it takes for the cars to clear out of the way. Please watch out for pedestrians.

Hole 1 (using regular 1’s basket) tees off in the grass between the two parking lot lanes near the practice basket through the trees. Stay to the right of the mandatory tree on the left side of the fairway. If at any point you pass to the left of the Mandatory tree, you play from the drop zone with a one stroke penalty. Over or on the path is OB.

Hole 2 (using regular 2’s basket) tees off in the grass island/median between the north and south street. You have to go to the left of the mandatory tree AND land safely in the grass over the gravel walkway to not be OB. Crossing inbounds does not matter if your disc does not end up inbounds. If you go OB once, you re-tee shooting 3. If you go OB again, you play from the drop zone shooting 5. Any subsequent OB’s play from last place in bounds.

Hole 3 (using regular 3’s basket) tees off in the grass island/median between the north and south street. If you do not clear the walkway on your tee shot, play from the drop zone with a one stroke penalty. On or over the walking trail is OB.

Hole 4 (using regular 4’s basket) tees off all the way in the corner near the stop light. The grass between the street on the left and the gravel walkway on the right is your fairway. There is an island around the basket that is marked. The front of the walkway behind the basket serves as the OB line. You may play over OB at any point. If your disc comes to rest in the OB area, you play your next shot from the last spot where you were over an in bounds area. The gravel walking path is OB.

Hole 5 (using regular A’s basket) tees at the normal long box. There is a double mandatory between the two evergreen trees in the fairway. If you pass either mandatory on the outside (to the left of the left tree, or to the right of the right tree), you play from the drop zone with a one stroke penalty (The trunk of each tree serves as the mandatory line). You do not have to make it through the two trees on your first shot. You are only OB when you break the plane of the double mandatory on the wrong side. On or over the gravel pathway is OB.

Hole 6 (using regular B’s basket) tees off near the regular long box. You have to go to the right of the mandatory tree AND land safely in the grass over the gravel walkway to not be OB. Crossing inbounds does not matter if your disc does not end up inbounds. If you go OB once, you re-tee shooting 3. If you go OB again, you play from the drop zone shooting 5. Any subsequent OB’s play from last place in bounds.

Hole 7 (using regular C’s basket) tees off from long C’s tee. There is a double mandatory that you have to cross between just like hole 5. If you miss it on either side, you shoot form the drop zone shooting 3.

Hole 8 (using a temporary basket around the corner of the tennis courts) tees off near the trees at the tennis courts. The basket is located around to the left of the tennis courts. The last post on the tennis court is marked as a mandatory. If you miss the mandatory to the left or your disc ever comes to rest INSIDE the tennis courts, play from the drop zone with a one stroke penalty. In the street/parking lot or on or over the walking trail around the corner is OB and plays from the last place in bounds.

Hole 9 (using regular 5’s basket) tees off from 5’s tee post. This is a true island hole. If you do not land in the island that is marked around the basket, you re-tee shooting 3 (it does not matter if you crossed the island, your disc has to finish in bounds). If you miss the island again, you move to the drop zone shooting 5. Any subsequent shot or putt that does not stay in the island shoots from the last place in bounds.

Hole 10 (using regular 7’s basket) tees off from flags behind 7’s tee through a clown’s mouth triple mandatory. Your disc has to safely travel through the two trees AND go under the banner. If your disc does not make it through the mandatory (no matter where it ends up, even if you are short), you re-tee shooting 3. If you miss it again, you shoot from the drop zone shooting 5. Two have cleared the mandatory trees, your disc needs to be completely past BOTH trees.

Hole 11 (using regular 9’s basket) tees off from 8’s short post. You must go to the left of the mandatory tree in the middle of the fairway. If you miss the mandatory to the right you play from the drop zone with a one stroke penalty.

Hole 12 (using regular basket 10) tees from 9’s long box. You must go between the two mandatory trees. If you miss the mandatory on either side, play from the drop zone with a one stroke penalty. You do not have to clear the mandatory on the first shot.

Hole 13 (using regular basket 11) tees from the grass island/median between the north and south street. You have safely land in the grass over the gravel walkway to not be OB. Crossing inbounds does not matter if your disc does not end up inbounds. If you go OB once, you re-tee shooting 3. If you go OB again, you play from the drop zone shooting 5. Any subsequent OB’s play from last place in bounds, including going over the rope behind the basket.

Hole 14 (using regular basket 14) tees off down regular elevens fairway (back toward the parking lot). OB walking path behind the fast green.

Hole 15 (using regular basket 12) tees off in regular 14’s fairway. Play to the left of the mandatory tree up the hill. If you land on the concrete island, over the fence, miss the mandatory or land on the walking trail, AT ANY POINT, play from the drop zone with a one stroke penalty. If you go long over the sidewalk past the basket, play from the last place in bounds.

Hole 16 (using regular basket 13) tees from the grass island/median between the north and south street. The middle part of the fairway has string marking the fairway on both sides. The trees at the end of the line are mandatory trees, If you end OVER the line at any point you play from the last place in bounds. If you miss either mandatory, you play from the drop zone.

Hole 17 (using regular basket 16) tees off near the park benches. Play to the right of the mandatory tree (3rd tree down the fairway). If you miss the mandatory tree to the left, play from the drop zone with a one stroke penalty. If you go ob over the fence, on the walkway, or in the parking lot, play from the last place in bounds with a one stroke penalty. Please watch out for pedestrians.

Hole 18 (using regular basket 18) tees off from 17’s short box. Street as always plays as OB.
