Where do we go from here?

post up ideas on what this club means. By that, I mean What are we doing, what should we be doing, how should the club be run and what is our goal and mission.

adverstise...... You need to make sure to get the word out to casual Dgers that you see on the course... even if that means interupting your game.. I couldnt tell you ( and those who know me know this) how many times i would go out of my way to talk to casual players, introduce myself, find out about them.. etc.. first timers, I would even leave the group i was in, even if i was in the middle of a round, to walk with or throw with new or casual players... I know of alot of the people that play now had that experience from me..That is how you advertise... You can waste all the money on ads in the paper, or Tv or Radio... I know from my dealings with the BMT Drillers, you have to appeal to the market that will have interest.. Flyers at Academy near the DG section, Flyers at Divers Den.... We have had TV spots, Newspaper articles, and even had live Radio Braodcasts from the course during the 94 Worlds, Did any of those bring the masses out to play? No, It is Joe Blow that see's people playing on the course as he drives by, talks to his buds and they come out. Some may think it is the bomb, some may think it is a waste of time, But the one who thinks it is the bomb will come back, and bring more friends that he thinks will enjoy.. That is how we got started...

You just have to get the word out to the interested parties, not the general public as a whole... There are Signs up at Klein, PUT FLYERS on them.... Tack Flyers on trees on the course..

Some quick advertising thoughts......

Get a few 2x4's and two 4x4 sheets of plywood(or flip a peice of paneling or whatever). Build a 4x4 sign and set it up on the course right up near major dr. Have something like- Disc golf Tournament May 5th- Summer league April XX- Goto www.GTDiscGolf.com for more info- Sponsors needed, stenciled on both sides.

Go to Office depot and get a pack of 500 sheets of paper....print out 250 league flyers and 250 tourney flyers. Give a handful to a few people and post them up on some telephone poles all along the course and hand them to every disc golfer they see.

what we need in order to accomplish this is for someone go out and get some sponsors. 100 bucks to sponsor a hole. $25 minimum for listing on sponsor sheet and a mention at awards plus hanging of a banner. 100 bucks gets them a tee sign at a hole, logo on tee shirt, mentions at player meeting and awards and up to 5 banners. Make a flyer and post it up so players can download it and print it out. do one for the league, same set up except double the numbers . Handing out flyers to random people wont do us any good. we need to make sure everyone who plays at klien, even if they are noobs get them to sign up and play. local participation is key. hopefully we will get a crew up from victoria and we get a good turnout from the houston players. I takes money to advertise and you must advertise something that will make more than has already been spent. Advertising for new membership is better done face to face at the course and direct them to the site.
