The Port Arthur City Council Meeting is today Tuesday, July 3rd at 5:30 p.m. at 444 4th St in. Port Arthur!!!!

You don't have to speak if you don't want - just show up and show your support for our efforts to save the disc golf course at Pleasure Island!!!!!

So how many disc golf supporters showed up? I wish I could have made it but I live out of town now.

I've read five of the local news reports. I am cautiously optimistic. Let us know how it went in there.

From my understanding, Roy Tritico, Jeff Thompson, Dustin Galmor, James Culver, Russell Gil and Thad King were all in the meeting. Jake Saur, Brian Fawcett, Will Roan and myself were all there but were late and the order to rescind had already happened so we talked for a bit outside and left.

I like how the media gets some info turned around sometimes. In the PA news, it says it will cost $150,000 to move the disc golf course. LOL

The Beaumont Enterprise sheds the best light on our side, stressing that as of now the project is cancelled.

Channel 6 keeps saying that the developer will likely pick a new spot to develop.

watched channel 4 last night.. they made it sound like in 2 weeks the proposed owner will come back with a study and numbers in favor of the RV park being there....

And Channel 6 made it seem like they were going to look for another location....

the engineer who designed the rv park like the army corp area, but they are targeting the dg park because they can include their 55 slot rv into the lease and manage them all. If it were at the ACE they would be seperate nonlinked rv parks. Believe me they are gunning for the park.

Glad to hear the news. It's just round 1, and I hope this is just a 2 round fight...with a win by unanimous decision.

Let them build elsewhere in Port Arthur, there are MANY areas of the City that could use the developement...in the "Flip this House" style. It would better that community, have a longer duration of housing, and actually encourage those migrant workers to STAY and LIVE in Southeast Texas because they would have property. Imagine that...improving someone's lifestyle with responsibility and pride of ownership.

It's DISC GOLF ... not Frisbee Golf (thats an old term)... Frisbee you play on the beach, tossing it to one another ... DISC GOLF is more technical than that.
